This section will be dedicated to the subject above that will help bring form towards your inner beauty to become outer beauty. As I develop this website, I will be encouraging readers to share their thoughts about changes that they made to better their lifestyle. As a child, life seemed to be easier, but we didn't know that! The hardest thing at that time seemed to be, do your homework, clean your room and eat your vegetables! I wanted to teach fitness classes while I was in college because I felt once you get out of college and start to work in an office you gain weight. This was one reason I had in my teenage and early adolescence mind. The other reason was, I could play my music in class and choreograph routines. I became an aerobic instructor during the time the movie "Perfect" ( A movie trying to be "The PERFECT BODY" at any cost starring Jamie Lee Curtis and John Travolta) and the Jane Fonda's Workout Craze. I am inspired by the people I worked with and presently work with. Since the majority of my clientele would like to lose weight, I took it upon myself to challenge my physique to the next level as they are doing everytime they are trained or take my fitness class. I have never been obese. I have had my ups and downs. So, I decided I would be in a fitness competition by the time I turned 30! I was in the 1994 Miss Fitness America Competition having no gymnastic abilities. It was a challenge. There were females of all different shapes and sizes. I was the smallest out of 25 competitors. Our physiques( swimsuit and gown) and routines were evaluated. I remember being called out with 2 others. I was in the middle, 4'10", and the other two were at least 5'6". I placed 10th. I was happy with my results. I met Carla Dunlap who was the head judge. She is a well- known bodybuilder. I could not believe she was petite. I thought maybe I could try bodybuilding competing with the same height group. I entered the 1995 Hercules Competition in NY. I placed 2nd out of 3. It was my next level. The photo to the right is from this show.
I married 2 months after the fitness show to my lovely husband, Eric Stern. I was still a newly wed for the bodybuilding show. The diet and training can effect your mood and mind set. I felt I accomplished my goal and focused on work and my next level of a relationship, marriage.
